How fun that you get together with them a couple times of month, what a treat.
I know what you mean about friends not reading your blog. My best friend from high school lives in Michigan so we rarely see each other and don't get to talk on the phone often, yet she doesn't read my blog. She wants to pay to have it made into a book so she can read it, but wouldn't it just be easier to read it daily and know what's going on? It makes me crazy.
