crystal bridges

Last month when I was at Megan's house
we went to visit
It was so much fun!
When Crystal Bridges first opened, I remember wishing I could go & thinking I would never get to visit... I am so happy I got the chance to go- and with Megan & her 3 boys!!!
(tony met us there after work)

How sweet are these two!?
Man... I miss them.

Crystal Bridges is a world class museum.
It's stunning~ There was a traveling exhibit featuring one of the few copies left of the constitution. No photos allowed. That was so cool- I was wishing Jack could be there!
The building is so well planned out & the grounds surrounding the museum are stunning. Great job here.

My favorite exhibit was definitely the modern art.

Get a look at this American Gothic done in spools of thread!

When you look through the viewing sphere- there it is.
really cool

This was mesmerizing for me.
I have to be on constant awareness with myself in places like this...
Oh dear, I have to admit... I have this strong desire to touch everything!
For heaven's sake! What am I- 5 years old?
I just want to touch it for a second???
I contained the urges to touch.

It was so fun to walk around the museum with Charlie & Joey.
They are such good boys & had plenty of energy.
I'm not sure Megan & Tony will be headed here regularly- but now & then is good enough.
(We were caught giving the boys crackers & almost got in trouble--- twice)

For sure the best part of the museum for the boys- was the children's interactive art area.
(say that ten times fast)
There was lots of fun things to do - but Charlie & Joey were all about the puppet theater.

It was such a fun trip for me-
and guess what?
Megan recently got an IPhone so now we get to face time!
Face time has made me feel not so far away.
Miss you guys!

Chloe & Trent's Day

Hailey & Jack went on a road trip with Brittany to see the newly returned missionary cousin Marcus. So Brett & I are left home with only two kids in the house- imagine that!
We decided since Brett has been gone most of the week, & it was early out day- to make it fun.
We went to the museum.
Trent got a real kick out of showing dad the real life flight helicopter outside with all it's cool buttons & radios that really work. This was Dad's first time here so he had a lot to see & learn.
Chloe filled him in .

Here's trent adding up there groceries. Wouldn't that be something if I really sent trent to buy the groceries? After coming home & Chloe going to ballet we took the kids to Wingers since they both got coupons for a free dinner after really great parent/teacher conferences this week.
Trent was being very uncooperative at first.
He didn't want to try Wingers but go somewhere else instead. Plus night time is not the best time to take him places...
He actually pulled out of it and did really well after we got seated. That's progress- fewww! I was trying to kiss him on the cheek in this picture but he didn't want any of that.

Chloe the very patient older sister & dad.

We even got dessert- what a treat! Fun times.
I actually really miss Hailey & Jack. No surprise there.

Day Of Discovery At The Discovery Children's Museum

Today I took Trent & Chloe to the children's museum while Brett took Jack & Hailey to the movies. Both at the Gateway in Salt Lake City. It really was so much fun. I am so glad we got the house clean & all the Christmas stuff put away so I can just relax.
Trent & Chloe showed me all around. The construction sight was a big hit with Trent. So was the robot exhibit.
Chloe found this lovely ball in the gift shop.
Before
After Chloe had a ball pretending to host a radio show. She's good.

And hullahooping.

But Trent's all time favorite was the TV news weather station. Notice the TV screen in the top right corner. He practiced giving the weather. Well, not really. He mainly looked at himself in the monitor & every now I then said- it's darn cold outside.

Trent decided after getting home from his cement truck driving job he will go in & do the evening weather report when he grows up.

Chloe took it all much more seriously- in a fun way.

Trent went shopping...

Then checked himself out at the cash register. I would've loved this when I was a kid.

Afterwards we went to the food court & had McDonald's. Then we met up the rest of the fam at the movie theatre. They thought the movie was awesome.

I am so glad we went. I've been trying to get out for a couple of days- it's been so busy.
What a fun day.

* what are you doing for your Christmas vacation?

* have you seen National Treasure or National Treasure II?
