christmas day 2013

Christmas morning we spent with Brian, Laura & the twins.
Christmas day in the afternoon we drove down south - about an hour away- to Megan & Tony's house.

We had loads of delicious finger foods for dinner- YUM.

We opened presents & watched Disney's Mulon-
The boys got it for Christmas.

We were lucky & got to be there to see the nightly wrestle mania & pillow fight.
Loved it-

Papa helped the boys set up the bucket of pvc pipes he brought them.
They make the best forts & weapons.

He put together this fort making kit for them  and

I bought them this magnet board (car drip pan) and magnets.
I found the idea on Pinterest!
I am a huge fan-

Megan sent me this picture of the boys playing with it the next day.
There is nothing-- nothing-- like being with kids at Christmas time.
It's pure magic.
We are so happy to have our Grandchildren close enough to visit and We Are Super Happy that
next month we are expecting another grandson!
It's been a while since I've talked about it-
but he will be here soon.
LIKE NEXT MONTH PEOPLE
Grandson #5
We are absolutely elated & so happy to have all these wonderful boys in our lives!
Bring on 2014!

Christmas season 2013

This year for me-
Christmas meant extra hours at work.
Which frankly I was very grateful for.
Still- I have deep regrets for not getting my education.
My constant lecture to my two sweet girls at home: get an education!
Education is power- it's freedom.
Freedom to choose what you want to do with your time.
Don't get me wrong- I LOVE my job- I really do!
I just don't love the pay- and I am not free to choose what I would like to do.
I know there are always exceptions, etc. But the facts are the facts & women need an education.
Apologies to my dear parents who offered it to me and... I didn't take the opportunity.
now I am old with too much responsibility to go back to school - women need something to fall back on- I wish I had more legitimate skills.
end of the lecture- feel free to move on

I set up a hot cocoa bar- thank you pinterest-
just after Thanksgiving.
It's so pretty under the microwave I think I will leave it up all winter.
I honestly don't drink hot cocoa- don't like it- but the kids do and I love this display.

I love our Christmas tree- I love that Chloe & Trent put most of the decorations on with Jack, Cory & Hailey. It was so much fun & I didn't take pictures of people putting on the decorations... oh my goodness.

At work we started a Cooking With Kids series & it has been VERY successful.
I have been teaching it once a month on Saturday mornings- corporate had this big idea to do the same thing every Saturday in November- so we jumped on board of course. It was really fun. Then in December we decorated cookies & gingerbread houses. We have a pretty good following now. I gotta say- it's so fun when the kids run up & hug me. My own at home Cooking with Kids classes start up again next week. I have a full - cooking with kids schedule! I'm always looking for ideas for things- parents want kids to know- so feel free to comment with suggestions.

The down side- I am always wishing I was at home doing this with my own kids & grand kids...
I just can't seem to find balance right now.

I love snow in winter.
It's been so pretty here!
Our chickens our surviving since Brett digs them out & makes them a walk way.
They are down to only producing one egg a day- one egg between the two of them?
Don't really know why & I haven't made it a priority to figure it out.

We continue on with medical tests AKA: waste of money- no one knows what to do for him-- for Jack. warning: DO NOT SEND ME SUGGESTIONS.
I am up to my throat and about to drown in them-
thank you very much.
We are working it out- not really- but we are trying- do not send me your ideas or give my number anonymously to anyone. Sorry but really- it's that bad. I don't want to know what super healing power you got from eating chicken soup or oil pulling. I hope all those things are successful for you -I really do- and I am not opposed to nontraditional medical ideas- I am opposed to getting them from people at this point. Truthfully- I swear- SWEAR - I've heard it all.

Jack & I on this day went in for a hydrogen breath test & MRI for his migraines.
He is on leave from work & misses classes on a regular basis now. Thank goodness for understanding & wonderful professors. AND- it's not that bad because he got all A's
ALL A'S ON HIS FINALS!!
this kid- gotta love him- or be amazed
What I do love to hear from people- is that they are praying for him & for us to figure it out.
I know that prayer will probably be the key to this.
Grateful for a loving Heavenly Father & for this Christmas Season.
More on Christmas to come.

Christmas Dance 2012

Well darn it all-
Look who is almost all grown up!
Chloe

She & a group of her friends took a lucky group of guys to the High School Christmas dance.

I snapped a few pictures before her & Clair ran off with the other girls to pick up their dates.

This was such a fun & festive dress-
I fell in love with it immediately & so did Chloe!
and the shoes!!!

I wish I could have been a fly on the wall...
but really - is there anything worse than your mom hanging out while you are on a date?
ya there is worse!
-I should have done it-
live and learn

just a few things

Last weekend (or maybe the weekend before-
all of these past weekends have been blending together.)
Brett & I went on a date!
We went shopping & had a little dinner

We checked out the new Paper Source store- first one in Utah- hooray.
We found these there for the twins!!
Love Them

Laura is on part time bed rest- not completely down anymore- and guess what?
She graduates from college on Friday!!!!!
WOOT WOOT- oh man we are so so excited.
How fantastic is this!? Oh boy- what a blessing. We are so proud. HOnestly- just in time. It just couldn't be better timing. She will be 29 weeks the day after graduation.

I only have one more cape to make. I think these super capes are just the bomb.com.

Megan sent me this sweet picture of Joey last week.
Oh he is getting so big!
What a handsome fella- He looks a lot like his Papa- lucky kid.

Two weeks ago we decorated our tree.
I'm just now posting.

Well some of us decorated the tree....

This Merry Christmas & I'm feeling much better post was brought to you by:

 Trent!
Who stayed home from school today with a little stomach issue & while he was here....
fixed my computer monitor!!!
Of course he was the one who broke it-- but hey it's fixed!
Thanks buddy

just a few things & some BIG news

This week was Charlie's third birthday.
3
HOW FUN IS THAT?!

He got the talking Elmo birthday card & super hero cape I sent
and here he is showing off his muscles.

Meg says the employees at Chick fil A (his birthday choice) were loving this.
Megan is so sweet to send us pictures nearly everyday.
It really makes me happy.

Thank goodness for modern technology & IPhones!

I LOVE this picture- What fun!
The BIG news?

Look who got her drivers license!!!!
YES
Chloe is legally driving all over town.
driving independence at 16 = happiness

Hailey & I made a quick trip to Costco this week & I couldn't help noticing that it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Look at this Lava Seat-- I have regretted not get seat warmers in my car... ha!
The Lava Seat to the rescue!!

We found some belts just Jack's size-- about 18 "-- do you think they would let us buy the sample belts?
Jack & I met with his travel doctor up at the U of U this week & that kid is so skinny! He again has lost more weight... their are for sure no more parasites & after one more test we are headed to a G.I. and a Neurologist. For his stomach & headache issues.

Back to Costco- For about 2 minutes I thought about going on a diet when I saw this dress.

And LOOK at this child's size leather recliner- don't you think the twins & Megan's boys need these?

I gotta admit-- seeing this scene in Costco made me long for Christmas when the kids were little. So much fun & so easy to please. I can't help it, I have to look & peruse through all the Christmas toys.
 It's just for fun.
