summer baptism

Today I got up at 6:30 am to get these two & myself up & ready to go to my sister's house.
It is a very special day. My nephew's baptism. He lives 1 1/2 hours away & the meeting started at 9:00 AM. There is something so wrong about getting up that early the day after school's out.
Luckily we have redbox, we rented this & headed out of town.

Trent & his cousin here are only about 9 months apart. They are the same grade in school & I hope they are always friends. What a couple of cuties!

Chloe & her cousin- the baptism boy's sister- are only six weeks apart! They are great friends- what a joy to have at least one set of cousins not a million miles away!

Ruthie has been really sick but insisted on having the baptism anyway. She's a trouper... and look at that fussy peanut! He's growing up, especially in the cheeks. Man, he is so cute, still a little fussy but nothing like before. I got to hold him the whole service :)

This family is growing up! What a bunch of cuties.
Congratulations Baptism Boy!

Trent & Lily's Baptism October 13, 2007

Trent & Lily were baptized yesterday.
It was such a special day.
Everything was perfect.
I am totally amazed.
Yes, Trent turned eight in August. The time came for his baptism
but whenever we talked about it he just didn't seem ready to me.
He would just be silly about it- so we postponed it.
One big blessing doing that-
was that Trent & Lily could get baptized together.
Trent & Lily have been best friends since they were two.
She is a doll & we love her. She is so patient with trent & all his little issues.
Well, waiting paid off.
We talked about baptism until we were blue in the face, not really.
Just every family night, before bed etc. not that we hadn't been
doing that before.

All I can say is, he was ready. It was an answer to prayer.
He was so excited & nervous. He sat through the program intentively. He paid attention and listened. I know he heard- he told me this morning he was going to seehis new family today, his church family and that he had a new name it is Christian.
He got it. After the baptism we had dinner with the Johnsons. It was so much fun. We had the most delicious soup
& my very favorite, Karen's cream puffs.
Thank you to the Johnson's & sweet lily
for sharing this special day with us.
