what's up?

This week:
Brett texted me this picture from Caroline's surprise party in July- so cute!

Charlie got his Halloween costume!

Ruthie, the peanut & I went to Gardner Village.

We shopped & had lunch & the weather was perfect.
Plus it's all decorated up for Halloween!

I found this sign & I LOVE IT- so so funny!
But- really- could you put this in our house, or place of business?
Can you imagine this in at your Vet's office- hilarious!

The Peanut sat by a witch!
He was very brave

Brett & I visited on the porch-
have I told you the weather is perfect right now?
BEcAUse it is!

Chloe was very brave & kind of crazy....
in her asking a date to the girl's choice
~ Harvest Dance ~
coming the end of the month.

The guy--
he said YES!
So then, who really is the brave one?

Chloe- she is so funny!

creative thursday- peanut edition

This week my sister had to be somewhere & asked me if I could keep the peanut for the day. I knew it was my creative day & that he would have friends... so hey why not?
After the initial drop off crying
He Did GREat!
Can't you tell by this enthusiastic face,
that he is having the time of his life!!?
He tried so hard all day not to smile it was almost comical.
We headed over to Janae's lusciously cleaned carpet with beautiful vacuumed lines & messed it up right away.
{a little peek at the project we worked on}
When I got home- I realized -
I didn't take any pictures- AGAIN!!!
Is it possible I was dropped at birth?
-what is wrong with me-
???
the humanity
{chloe got out our bucket of old baby toys-sweet memories}
The peanut is fussy- But NOt Today!
He played & played- took an hour & 1/2 nap-
played some more- then followed the dogs around saying
"no, no, no BWonto"
so cute
I love how little kids boss the dogs around.
Finally someone they can boss & get away with it.
***
so again
no pictures from creative thursday
it was great to get away for the day
anyhow
*do you do something creative everyday?
*do you have a group that you meet with regularly?
*I don't think I needed it in my life as much as I do now?

a visit from the peanut

Last night the peanut came to visit.
Chloe & I bbsat him while his family went to see this.
Oh boy, as you can see ...
He is still the fussy peanut. Chloe & I tried everything we could think of, and remember- I have a lot of baby experience. Even Brett the baby whisperer tried to put him to sleep with NO luck. We changed him, fed him walked around in the stroller, chased the dogs in the stroller barking
(my personal favorite until I got tired.) (Bronco hiding under the computer desk from the crazy lady with the fussy baby who kept chasing him around the kitchen table barking)
I would've taken him outside to play, but hello-- it was night, we have piles of snow, & it was completely freezing. Ruthie told me if he got like this- put on the movie Toy Story or Toy Story Two. Man, was she right. That totally did the trick, well for the most part. He was never really happy.. just not fussing or trying to go to the front door anymore.

The dogs have been traumatized, but just a little.
Chloe was there to console them & when Ruthie came to pick up the peanut, max even acted all protective of the peanut. That max, he loves kids.
So- for the first time in years-
we sat down- kind of- and watched Toy Story 2.
I had to dig through our old VHS tapes to find it.
It's a darling movie.
I love how the peanut carries around woody.
He just got him for Christmas.
The whole movie he would say... buzz, buzz whenever Buzz came out.
So cute!
I don't do Toy Story 1- that Sid kid freaks me out.

There's some serious movie watching going on here!
later that night Ruthie told me this was his 6th time watching it this weekend!
The peanut.
He's fussy, but ya gotta love him.
Did your kids have a favorite movie when they were little?
I'll have to do a whole other post about the movies my kids loved another day.

saturday- the garage, a bike ride & the peanut

Two years ago Jack finished his Eagle project. You know- for his Eagle scout rank.
Ya- you read right
TWO YEARS AGO
Since then he has needed 2 bike rides. A 25 & 50 miler. He did the 25 this past summer & the 50 has been looming over his head like a bad omen. Finally today... the last great weather day of the year (so the weather man says), he got it done!!!!!!!Poor kid - with a mother like me- he can now sleep easy :).
He still has a board of review & Eagle court, but as far as I'm concerned- this babe's done! YESSSSS
{jack the studly -almost- EAgle SCout!}
Years ago when Brian was working on his Eagle & I was encouraging him along aka: nagging him to death- he used to say,"you only want me to get my Eagle so you'll look good for your friends!" Oh man- that was the funniest thing one of my kids had ever said. I thought I would bust a gut. Seriously- if I wanted to impress my friends I'd lose 40lbs. & wouldn't drive a mini-van.
Kids-sheesh.
Way to go Jack! I am really excited for you & so glad you did it with a good attitude.
Way to get up & get going today bud. I know it was hard & we really should have pushed you to get it done earlier- but it is your award not ours. Anyhow- I'm really proud you did it & on your own, even if it did take 2 years to finish up the end of it- who cares? You got it done! Someday, when you have kids... you're going to be so glad. Today along with cleaning the garage out (serious all day project)- Brett & Trent finished up some remodeling on the tree fort. It is now complete with an all-enclosed bottom level.
Besides laundry, dishes, Halloween clean up & driving to ballet TWiCe- We've got a visitor today. The Peanut is here while Ruthie's family goes to Lagoon.
I think he's going to be a model someday- he's got the serious look down- for sure!
The Peanut, Max & I had a great time playing in the autumn leaves. The Peanut loves to be outside. We had to take turns taking him out or severe crying ensued.
Max didn't mind- not at all.

random monday

I love this picture of jack not wanting to get his picture taken waiting to leave for the dance. Why- because on Friday the senior class went up on the mountain to paint "their letter" white. You can see the white paint still stuck on his scalp. He was covered in white paint... I wasn't home & didn't get a photo!!! dang- I have pictures of megan & brian covered in white paint from their senior years- maybe someone has a picture out there?Sunday we drove down to the newlywed's apartment & had lunch with them. They are so cute- they have a darling apartment- I love them. Trent wanted to see everything- oh thanks for being patient guys.
Today I went shopping with the peanut & my sister.
Look who's walking- the peanut! gosh I just can't believe how cute this guy is & already walking? amazing- i guess he is a whloe year old now. It always takes him a while to warm up to me. He refused to smile. I think he was just so serious about buying this chair.

hurray aimee, sean & cole were here!!

It's been a couple of busy days around here!
Because of the Olympics I am actually getting some computer time without having to beat anyone off. I am so incredibly tired right now I can barely keep my eyes open. We have 9:00 AM church, were up late & when we did get to bed a huge storm started up. Thunder, lightening, wild wind & rain= NO SleeP. It was all I could do to get up & sing with the kids at church today. Hurray we were so excited to have company over for dinner last night!
The peanut, ruthie & brittany, plus aimee, sean & cole are in town-
it was fantastic to see them!! we miss them so much.

We BBQ'd & had a great time seeing how big cole is now. When they moved cole was the peanut's age 10 months. There is a huge difference between 10 & 19 months!

Cole is so smart & such a cutie. He's just about ready for piano lessons... maybe. He loved playing the piano & it was so funny because he moved his hands really fast, but hit the keys softly. See, I told you he was a smart kid!

Brett & jack were gone at scout camp this week & came home Friday night. No wonder I am feeling that school isn't starting early enough this year... partly I was missing dad & all his help. I worked a luncheon on saturday afternoon & the girls & I have done some school shopping. wow- it's been a crazy busy weekend.

Now I'm going to take my sunday nap! ZZZZZZ

*do you take a nap on sundays?

the peanut left

The peanut left yesterday afternoon. He was really good- better than I anticipated. He took 2 long naps a day... slept all night. We carried him around mostly, but here's the evidence he played & was happy, sort of... he's such a serious baby.

For some reason, whenever Jack was around he just couldn't stop staring at him. It was really funny to watch him- watch jack. He nearly twisted his head around several times to keep his eye on him. I think Jack liked it.

Cory the missionary-
stopped by Tuesday night before he went into the Missionary Training Center Wednesday morning. He told us the mission he is going to is known for being in the jungle. Lots of humidity, shacks, monkeys... wow.
So we're back to the old regular life- without a baby & two extra kids around.
Life seems so much more simpler now.

the peanut's visit

(sorry about the side ways video- when will I learn?)

This peanut (I call him peanut because he was so small when he was born & had a tough time gaining weight-not an issure anymore) is so funny. If I am holding him & he can't really see my face he's totally fine, even cooing & babbling. As soon as he sees me or if I talk to him... cry baby. A girl could get a complex or something. I am bbsitting him & his 8 yr. old brother & 12 yr. old sister while my sister & her other two kids & husband go on a pioneer trek with their congregation. Just for 2 nights so it's not that bad.

Shhhhhhh... the peanut is here

I just have a minute... the peanut got here last night about 9:00.
he came along with 10- yep 10- bags. Hmmmm that's kind of a bad sign wouldn't you say?
He had a really rough time right after his mom left- he thought he was going to die- false alarm- he's makin' it so far. He slept good-- 10:00- 5:30 when he got up he peed on me while I changed his diaper, then I gave him a bottle. Back to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. So our house has been over run...
And I have been seriously reminded of the old days- when I had little peanuts.

Oh boy- this is gonna be fun!?
:)

what we've been doin'

Getting our hair done...
before
after
Babysitting the peanut....
who was very fussy & thinks he doesn't like me, even though I shared my chocolate creamy.... next month I have him for two days- maybe two nights- uh oh!
eating watermelon

hangin' around... &

helping out. These two are the best. They helped me around the house all day!
they picked up dog- you know- in the back yard
walked the fussy peanut in a stroller until he fell asleep
played with said peanut who cried whenever he was left alone with me?????
& now... chloe is organizing the pantry!
no- she does not hire out- sorry, you'll have to get your own
