never a dull moment

It's a great day here at my house!
Not only is the big game on today-
GO COUGARS!!
but Chloe has here final two nutcracker performances.
Lots of family & friends are coming to watch & she is over the moon excited.
This morning the other three kids went in for the Flu Mist.
Dad tried to bribe Trent into not fussing (hey it's not the shot?!) by letting him use his blue tooth. He promptly called grandma & told her he was getting one for Christmas...? She of course has no idea what a blue tooth is. It was quite amusing to hear him try to explain the whole concept.
Poor Trent had to be held down-
he was just a little nervous- actually extremely nervous. I don't think it helped that Hailey went first & completely flipped out- woos. Or, that Jack told him that they really spray it up your rear end, out in the lobby. I of course couldn't stop laughing at that one... I really am not a good mom. Brett had to remind me to stop laughing so loud. I am such a loud laughter & cry when I really get going. Oh boy...

Did you get a flu shot, mist?
Trent says Jack's getting "dog crap" for Christmas...

Friday Nights Live

Last night we went to watch the big HS football game. It was so fun & brought back so many great memories for me. Jack is #35- best buns on the team!
We were the visiting team & it was our across town rival. We REALLY wanted to win.
This is earlier in the game- when we were ahead. Yes we lost by a field goal in the last 19 seconds. Dang! Jack didn't get put in the game- heck it is his first year & it was a tight game the whole night. It was great to be there with Brett & Brian. Yes, Brian went with us. He is the missionary in waiting you know- most of his friends off to college. We took him to dinner & the game, it was really fun to have him with us.

This is who we sat by... Megan's college roommate Heather. She is here with her parents (sigh), supporting her sister - the most talented cheerleader! What a nice girl that Heather. Comes home on weekends- hangs out with her parents- supports her sister...hint, hint, hint. I wonder if Megan reads this blog anymore. Maybe now I'll find out. Shh don't tell her.

Summer Fun!

Chloe & Caroline in the neighbor's pool
Our neighborhood has a weekly playgroup, everyone is invited. Today it was at one of the family's home who has this fabulous back yard & pool. They are an amazing family who are so willing to share & so inclusive. Trent & Chloe had a great time. I took some pictures of Trent but they were in the shade & didn't turn out.
Ready...

Set...

SPLASH!!

Tonight we went to a football dinner & scrimmage for families of the team. It was really fun to watch Jack- he is #35. Isn't he cute in that uniform!? He came home with a note that said there was a game & dinner would be served from 5:30-7:00. I was thinking- now isn't that nice, they have dinner for the families... we are new to the football thing. It was $10 a family, which was no big deal it just goes to show how naive I am. Trent, Chloe, Brian, Brett & I went- when I realized there were five of us plus the fed the player I felt guilty for not giving an extra donation- what a deal! It was really fun & now I am excited for the football season. If it weren't for the fact that the coach is this amazing great guy, really awesome- we would not be doing this. I am grateful for good men who give their time to mentor. It's amazing, really.

Jack is playing football

Anyone who really knows me will be shocked to know that my Jack is playing football. I love to watch college football- GO COUGARS- but I hate that football mentality. You know what I am talking about. I think it is especially bad with the highschool and younger leagues. Well he has persisted in begging then finally just signed up. I talked to a friend of mine who lives by the H.S. coach and she had nothing but positive things to say about him, plus he was Brian's favorite teacher for the last two years (spanish). So what can I do? He is playing football. I am trying to embrace it. He looks good in the uniform I must admit. I am excited to go to the games in the fall. He's a good boy.
