friday favorite

I have an addiction.
It's a serious problem...
I love, love, love
MAGAZINES
-LOVE THEM-
I try to tell myself that I am not buying them.
I have enough.
I subscribe to way too many....
and heaven knows I can find most of what I am looking for on the Internet for free!
But there is just something about getting a magazine in your mailbox.
It's great good mail!

I love this one

and this one

and this one

and this one
WHAT?- THIS ONE HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED??
another death of a magazine....
I'm depressed now
gotta go

I love magazines, too. A couple of years ago I let all of my subscriptions lapse because I was having a hard time reading them all! It's true, you can find so much online, it's not like I really need the magazines. But I recently got 2 free subscriptions and I do enjoy the tangible beauty and inspiration -- now to find time to read them...

I only subscribe to two at the moment (I WAS subscribing to Cottage Living but apparantly they're out of business too! GRRRRRRR--to replace my subscription, they are sending me Redbook now--(just not the same!)

Like Michelle, I enjoy the tangible feeling of flipping through pages--

I remember when I used to fly, finding a People magazine was like finding a bonafide gold nugget right there in the seat! A remember lunging many a time for one of those bad boys! Of course, I wouldn't be caught dead owning a subscription, but whenever I go to get my hair done or go to doctor visits, if I see one of those, I'm thrilled!

I used to love getting magazines in the mail, but have let all of my subscriptions run out over the past couple of years. The only one I get (besides church magazines) is Martha Stewart Living, because I got shnockered into a subscription through Special Olympics of Utah. The crazy thing is I have about 4 issues that I haven't even looked at. I'm not sure why that is, but I guess it's because I'm always reading books for book club so I rarely just sit and read a magazine. This seems silly now that I'm typing this.

I have a SERIOUS magazine addiction. Not only do I get several, I love to browse in the magazine aisles, and I love taking hand-me-downs from my sister and mom! We just got back from our girls' trip to the beach and we all show up with a handful of magazines that we love to share. We get a few that are the same but love to give subscriptions as presents so there are usually a couple of different ones here and there. Right now I get...Weight Watchers, People (sad but such a guilty pleasure), Family Fun, BH&G Scrapbooking, Rachel Ray, Mississippi, Delta, Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living...I think there is another one but I can't think of what it is right now.
I read someone else's comment about not being caught dead with a subscription to People but loving it. Several people know that i have it and are always saying "bring your people" to the lake, to the pool, road trips, at the cabin, etc. It is well read by the time that I pass it along to the lady that cleans my house who thinks it is a nice perk :o)
