treasures

A couple of weeks ago, when we were at my in-laws house.
We found some treasures there.
Grandma had a bag of cars.
She let Trent bring them home & look what was inside.Do you remember these?
I do & I am all smiles having them at my house now.
I like this girl with the braids & the dog.
I think I may have chewed the braids off my own.
I'm glad Brett didn't.

These remind me of the good ol' days.
Days when I dreamed of driving my own car-
you know back when gas was only .47 cents a gallon.
That's the lowest I remember being a kid.
My sister Ruthie & I had the farm house, play house & school.
I loved them then & I love them now. I wish I had them still.

I'm trying to think of a great way to display/store these treasures.
Any ideas?
great news-- Chloe says she saw the playschool out in Grandma's garage!

* do these look familiar to you?
*did you play with them too?
*do you think someone will try to rob me?
Brett says someone might after reading this.

Ooooh!! These make ME so happy too! Look at their little faces and wooden bodies sitting so happily in their cars ready to go on an adventure.

Can I come over and play? Plu-u-ease??

(Guard them well)

Oh, you're so lucky I live too far away to rob you! 'Cause that is soooo tempting! :) What a great find!

I have tried to get those on Ebay. They go for a LOT of money. What a treasure. (And to think that I had a key to your house once.....)

I remember that dog... I don't know if I had those when I was little or where I have seen those before, but I have. They are so cute and just looking at them on your blog makes me happy.

These bring back great memories! Doug's mom has a few of these and she lets the kids play with them:)
I loved the girl in blue with the bun on her head.

I am so jealous! I loved playing with those cute people. I had the farm house too and this city thing with a post office. My Mom chucked them all when she heard kids were choking on the people. I was so upset! She did keep the sesame street house. I am going to rob you, or you could just let me have them nicely! JK

They used to make the coolest toys! Now they are so lame! I love the old wooden blocks with the letters on them.
Tell Brett you need to buy a new cute hutch to store and display them :)

I LOVE those! We have new ones, but they're just not the same. I do have the old barn, though. I bought one when Max was a baby, before they went electronic. Sometimes I see them at D.I...

I played my GUTS out with the playskool stuff! I like the classic retro Little People better than the current ones.

My mom collects them, big time. When we visit, my kids set them all up and call it "playing village." She's got the school, the western town, sesame street, the hospital, a VERY old fair, the house, and a few others I can't recall.

A few years back my brother did a frame-by-frame movie with my mom's Little People stuff and made it into a dvd movie, then showed it to Max & told him they come alive at night like on "Toy Story."

Max still believes his toys are up to antics at night. And yes. He's 10.
