heck, I'm not crying... that's just my allergies

Well, today is the big day-
Jack just left.
We sat here on the porch this morning waiting for his dad to come home from work to say goodbye and talked a bit-- while my allergies bugged me....
Poor kid, has to sit with his sniveling mother.
It's the price he had to pay since we won't be eating for a month or two with all the money we spent getting him out the door. Seriously- new tires& windshield, food, bedding, apartment stuff- it adds up so fast!
I am proud of this kid.
He can do it- I'm am so thrilled he is at my beloved BYU. Living on campus just a walk away from where his dad & I sat talking on the back steps until much too late- just a walk away from where his dad held my hand the first time at a BYU football game in a near blizzard- & just a walk away from where his dad asked me to marry him.

so ya- I'm not sad- not sad at all.

NOpe- I'm not crying either...
or sitting alone in my bedroom with a box of tissue...
or eating pie...
or any of those things
dang kids

oh, wow.

i'm so glad you took the time to write this post. your tongue in cheek humor is shining through!

don't OD on the pie, and please don't let me hear of any rampant Costco crying. i know how you get when you think about your amazing boys in the big box stores!

Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.

Hang in there Patsy, I'm sure he will be home for a weekend with a ton of laundry and starved for a home cooked meal soon.

Jack will do great! He is an amazing young man. I love your all your posts. I am so far behind. The kids looked so sharp of the first day of school. I joined the PTA today becuase of you (I really liked your little talk). I have never joined before.

Ohhhhh.... this is so sad! And happy. And exciting. But I'm glad I have a few more years until that happens around here.

It'll be great to have him close enough to come home every now and then!

Even though he's messy, is addicted to glenn beck and is cranky when he sleeps...you gotta love Jack. I'm sure he's going to miss you!

You're so cute Patsy!

I was thinking about you going through this today because I was on campus helping my nephew move into Heritage Halls. It was so fun being there and seeing all these baby-faced teenagers moving in and starting this phase of their lives. It's going to be such a rude awakening for most of them...I love it!

It's tough being a parent sometimes...especially when your allergies flair up! I'm so sorry!

My daughter is away at college in another state and today's her birthday, talk about feeling sad!

Even when it's not your first kid to leave home, it's still heart-wrenching. You'll be on my mind this week!

Oh man I need some tissues after reading this....you know he'll be home soon begging for a home cooked meal and bringing all of his gross stinky laundry with him...right?

Stay strong!!!

One good thing is he is less than an hour away and now you can clean his room!!!!

When you figure out how to survive all this make sure you tell me because I am not too far behind you!!

Have fun on your visit tomorrow!! Hang in there! Love ya!

This is such a sweet post...You really are an amazing mom...I think it's so neat that you have such sweet memories of your courtship with Brent "just a walk away" from where Jack will be...

P.S.--totally unrelated to anything on this post...I just happened to see your quilt list on your side bar--I am over the moon about Chloe's twin quilts...my sister did a similar pattern and I couldn't stop admiring it! You did a fabulous job! I'm sure it looks adorable in her room...

I'm not sure why I never saw this post! Sorry for not commenting sooner...summer was crazy...
