hailey graduates!

What a great day!
I couldn't sleep last night & I made one million mistakes at work because I was so excited.
I just couldn't think about anything, except how Hailey is graduating & how I am so proud of her.
It is truly a wonderful day.

(chloe, rob- hailey's friend & the almost graduate)

We started off the celebration by going to a restaurant we just don't get to nearly enough. Roosters in Ogden. The food is great, the setting- perfection. It's darling & beautiful & did I mention the food is fantastic?- check out the menu!

Hailey had to line up early- & get dressed in her robe & cap.
We enjoyed beautiful weather & visited- it was nice.

There she is on the mega tron. So cute.

Hailey's high school years have been difficult to say the least.
Hailey has accomplished a lot especially considering everything she has been though.
She has given me permission to write a bit about it.
Hailey has had (she is so much better!!) severe depression, anxiety & psychosis.
Without going into detail- it's been a lot of doctors, psychiatrists, hospital stays & mostly prayers. Sometimes we are put through trials that are so hard- it's hardly bearable.
Sometimes it's hard to see the end of the road. Not that we are at the end of any roads... it's just so much better now. She is back & I love her. She is a good kid - a GREAT kid. Talented, smart, pretty-- why? I don't ask that anymore. I just say- we are humbled & we are learning so much.

Hailey's plans?
She is going to live at home & go to LDS business college where she will be working on an associate's degree in entrepreneurship - then transferring to Utah State University where she will get her bachelor's degree in music therapy.
Hailey will be a terrific therapist- with so much to offer.
Because- she's been there- and she has conquered & continues to every day.
I love you Hailey- I'm so lucky to be your mom.

6th grade graduate!

Today was another awesome graduation!
Trent... the last of our babies to go through elementary school.
I can hardly believe it.

Twenty years ago- this fall- Megan started kindergarten.
Here we are almost 20 years later
20 YEARS LATER
and our baby is graduating 6th grade.
unbelievable

Trent was great- he looked great- he was just great.
(Have I said great enough for ya?)

These two saints have worked with Trent since the second grade.
They have been life changing for him & for me. They have been so wonderful in every single aspect of helping Trent to be successful. They know him so well. I will miss them terribly & so will he.

Of course, he also had the world's best 6th grade teacher!
She has been so fun & sends me emails now & then quoting Trent & all the funny things he says.

I am going to miss elementary school.
I kind of love it there.
Love you Trent
GREAT JOB

the beginning of graduation week

Tonight is the beginning of  a very exciting week around these parts~
Hailey is GRADUATING!

Seminary graduation was first up tonight.
We are so very proud of her & excited that she is finishing up this chapter of her life & moving on to bigger & better things.
She is a joy- an absolute joy.
High school has not been easy for Hailey (is it easy for anyone?) She has struggled with many things-
but can I say-- she has overcome, she has been courageous & she is winning the battle.
Oh my mother heart has been busy & my prayer... we will talk about that another day.

Even though her official H.S. Graduation is on Thursday we decided to open her main presents tonight in honor of her finishing up everything.
Hailey finished her last 2 months of High School at home, working with a counselor & teacher who came to the house a couple of days a week to drop off & pick up homework.
Today- she turned in her last assignments.
DONE
All Done
Honestly - there was a time there where we were starting to worry
but that was in vain.
sigh

In honor of Seminary Graduation
NEW SCRIPTURES
Scriptures get pretty worn & marked up (that's a good thing) and we wanted her to have a fresh new pair.

Second....
~drum roll please~

The IPhone 3GS!!
She has wanted one so so so badly.
Now she has one & we are committing to paying her contract for the first year.

As you can clearly see the presentation of the IPhone brought out the green eyed, jealous, monster in one 12 year old red head.
 It's tough being the youngest.

Hailey & Tiffany

Seminary Graduation was held at our local church building & it was a beautiful ceremony. There were lots of graduates, parents & friend who have grown up with our Hailey.

Hailey & Larkin- pals since they were 8 years old!

We are just so very thrilled for Hailey. We are so proud of all her hard work- she has definitely learned a lot & grown in many more ways than the average teen. I'm so glad she is ours. So happy she is such a great daughter & friend to me.
Come back soon to see the graduation pictures.

grad night at the temple

Last Wednesday night the YW & their mom's celebrated our graduating seniors.
We met up at the Bountiful Temple for a special speaker & a spectacular view.

(our guest speaker, Tyler- leaves on an LDS mission to Phoenix, AZ in August)

This view was absolutely breath taking- It was unreal.
I couldn't help but feel like I was in a photo. Amazing.

Tyler talked to the girls about keeping the gospel centered in their lives.
How - now that they are adults & leaving home etc- it's even more important make good choices.

afterwards--- amazing refreshments!

For real!
I think moms need to be invited more often!

what a great night!
side note: what the heck? how can it be that in less than two weeks Hailey will be graduating from High School... this is definitely sneaking up on me.
