making baby food

Megan & I headed over to see the twins & help Laura make baby food after Charlie & Joey went to sleep this week. It was a BLAST.

The twins are getting homemade baby food- which by the way is really easy to make & store.

This is sweet potatoes.

While Megan & Laura were busy with food prep, Brian & I gave them baths.

Then we got them to sleep.
Some nights they sleep good, others...
not so good.
So they are doing pretty great.

Brian put down Crew & I had Finn.
He just sat & stared in my eyes as I rocked him.
I blinked, yawned... but he just stared up at me.
After a good while I laid his sweet little self down into his crib & he closed his eyes & fell asleep.
Oh I am so lucky!
What a GREAT blessing.

the twins- an update

The twins...
Oh the twins!
They are doing fabulously.

And Guess What?!
They are red heads.
(cue: big smile)

They are big now.
Bigger than these pictures... but I will add more pictures soon.
You know, since I'm blogging again.

On their blessing day.
(notice Megan, Tony, and the boys were there?
They can come to family things now. It's pretty great.)

Brian & Crew

Laura & Finn

Some of my favorite guys.

Crew on the right & Finn on the left.

They have the same color hair as Jack.
And OH how Jack loves them.
But then, we all do.

This picture above is one of my favorite ever!
It will surely be one for the wedding video... haha - Crew is not shy.

Finn & Nana

This picture is from early June.
The twins are almost 5 months now.

Four Grandsons
It just doesn't get much better than that.

cooking class & babies

My March Cooking Classes are in full swing.
Here are a couple of shots of the kids cutting up veggies.
Last week we had a class all about getting more veggies into your life!
It is interesting & fun to see the kids react & try new things.
This week we worked on jazzing up our home lunches. Here the kids are cutting up veggies to go into tortilla wraps.

We made ham/turkey & cheese wraps with ranch & veggies
and pb & j wraps with banana- both great!

It's spring time in Megan's town & pretty close in our town.
I am getting lots of "at the park" pictures texted to me & I LOVE it.

Yesterday Chloe & I walked - yes walked, it was so nice outside!
Down to see the babies.

This was our welcome at the door!
Brian & Laura are such great parents.

(smiles from Finn)

Today I spent about 5 hours straight with them!
What a fun time- twins make single babies look easy.
These boys are so good though- really good babies.
Really lucky parents!
More on our visit in tomorrow's post.

a shower for 2

Two weeks ago
Laura had a baby shower-- well a babies shower.

(DOES SHE LOOK AMAZING OR WHAT?! I can't believe there are two?!)

That's right!
TWO BABY BOYS
are
ALMOST HERE!

the Lovely Johnson ladies were there
-Ella, Caroline, Lily, Karen, Larkin-

Wende, Lisa, Lauri, & Kristy

The shower was at Laura's parents house
and her sweet mom made the most delicious rolls!
All of my sweet friends made salads & they were fantastic.
I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the food?
probably because my mind was on these
the dessert-

Cupcakes!!
Have I told you how excited I am that these babies are coming?
Probably not, because I have been in denial- trying not to think too much about it.
I hate waiting... BUT NOW I CAN BE EXCITED BECAUSE
LAURA IS SCHEDULED FOR A C-SECTION ON FEBRUARY 12!!!
THIS COMING TUESDAY!
(c- section because they are breach)
She is 37 weeks along & 38 weeks is full term for twins.
The last time they were measured (over 2 weeks ago) they were each over 5 lb.
We are talking- she is going to have these babies full term & she is going to be able to bring them home.
Oh Heavenly Day In the Universe
Good news in an otherwise cold & dreary winter.
My boy- and his sweet wife-
are having babies. What could be better than that?

I just have to tell you- Laura has been absolutely amazing through this. She is so miserable & never complains. She is one tough cookie & she is going to be the best mom to these little boys. They are so lucky- we are so lucky.
